I think you'll find that the Ffestiniog Railway is 'narrow gauge' as it is 600mm (ie 2ft in old money).
Miniature usually refers to gauges less than 15"

Otherwise good info.

Get the timing right and you can get several sites in, as well as both railways.

Watch the weather - it rains a lot.
There are a number of other attractions in the area.
