Location notes
Drem is just north of the junction for the North Berwick branch on the East Coast Main Line. The station is the railhead for Haddington, since the closure of that branch in the 1960s, and sits just inside the small village.
Incidentally, the East Neuk model railway club, based in Anstruther, Fife, have a model based on this station and junction. Their website is curently undergonig reworking, but the layout was featured on the site in the past, set the 1990s.

Railway type and traffic
The line is the East Coast Main Line, so expect to see National Express East Coast HSTs and 225s, as well as Cross Country Voyagers.
Local services are provided by First Scotrail class 322 EMUs, with the odd working by a DMU.
Freights are provided by DB Schenker, Freightliner, and GB Freight.

Environment
The station is situated in the village, but is also in a slightly unsheltered location. You are unlikely to encounter any trouble however.
Road directions
From the A1, southbound, head for Longniddry, and at Longniddry station, turn right at the mini roundabout, and follow this road. The ECML will be along side you the whole way. At another roundabout, go straight over it, the station is 1/2 along this road.
From the southbound direction, come off at the Haddington Junction, and follow signs for Drem. At the second roundabout, turn right, and follow signs for Aberlady, until. you get to another roundabout, with the ECML in front of you. Turn right, and follow this road. The station is 1/2 mile along this road.

Parking
The station has a car park, but this can be busy. If that is the case, try and park carefully and legally within the village.
Public transport
First Scotrail run an hourly train service from Edinburgh to North Berwick, which calls at Drem.

Amenities
The station is unstaffed.
Drem is a small hamlet, and the only facilities that I saw on my visit was a post office. However, if you drive round it, you may find something else. I would recommend going into Longniddry or Haddington, or North Berwick.

www.visitscotland.com can advise. Incidentally, this is a popular tourist route, so there should be something in the area. North Berwick may be a popular place.

Photographic notes
There is not too much traffic noise, so you will be ok for videos. As well as this, you get good views both north and south. However, from the station footbridge, you can only get a good view southbound, due to the road bridges.
Incidentally, looking south, you can see the two freight loops, one each direction and, further south, the North Berwick branch.
